The UK Gaming Zone admin team have been working on a new terrain, after many months and hundreds of hours, we have something to show you, please bear in mind it's a very early WIP :)

Although based on a real location the map is fictional to allow freedom and changes to suit ArmA.

 

Terrain Details :

 

Grid Size = 4096

Cell Size - 5

Terrain Size = 20,480m x 20,480m

 

 

Future Plans :

 

Once the main island is completed a first release will be open for testing, then published for feedback and bug reports.

Feedback and suggestions will be discussed and new changes implemented.

Extra land mass will be added in the North East, there's plenty room for more content.

 

 

 

What we do need are one or two talented people to help with object placement, we still have 8 towns and cities to do, there are also plans for more, as well as miscellaneous objects such as the remote farms, windmills, boundary walls and other unique areas.

For now Kitty it's on hold, I still have all the files to resurrect in the future, however as it was mine and WinstonSmith's first attempt we done ok, it's really not a bad looking terrain, unfortunately the standard of terrain being released is so high we've stopped work on Spero, object placement is so time consuming and it must be original and creative, maybe one day we'll finish it but the island lacks features, it's how things are in real life with it, maybe we played things too safe as our choice.

There are plans for a new terrain, I really do want to release a finished terrain but Spero is on the back burner, as i said though just for now and it might well be finished, I would like to see that happen.

 

Once the Tanoa objects are available i think that would be a great starting point, Spero only used A3 objects and there are not enough, Tanoa adds a huge choice of new objects, buildings and surfaces, it makes sense to start fresh with the experience gained with Spero to make a much better, higher quality terrain, so any help is always welcome.

I'm working on one  :ninja:  but I need Tanoa objects unencrypted, for now they're .ebo files, few weeks they'll be .pbo then i can have at them
